Bobby HAWK

Bobby Talk

Bobby Talk was played live and improvised at Reel to Reel Haven Studios — no charts to fall back on, no second passes, eleven pieces that found their shape in the room as they were being made. Across two volumes the record runs from the seven-and-a-half minute opening stretch of "Go Knicks" to the two-minute sign-off of "He Came, He Saw, He Skronked," a band listening hard behind a leader with nothing to prove. The titles tell you most of what you need to know about the mood in the room that day.
